Our Story

I&P HOME BAKED GOODNESS

I’ve always been a baker at heart. I spent hours in the kitchen as a child, learning the basics from my mother. As I got older, my passion deepened, and so did my skills. I left school at 15—encouraged by my parents, who told me if I wasn’t going to study, I had better work hard and make a living. And that’s exactly what I did.

From working in an IGA bakery in Alberta, to Tim Hortons in Saskatoon, to catering for a Christian camp at Camp Arnes in Manitoba—I’ve spent my life in the world of baking and food service. Eventually, I returned home to Neuanlage and joined the team at the CO-OP bakery on 8th Street in Saskatoon. At the same time, I was custom baking on the side for a small company on Terrance Ave.

Then everything changed. I met the love of my life, Ben—my greatest supporter and biggest fan. We got married and started a family, and today we have four incredible children who work alongside us every day.

The Rising of Home Baked Goodness

I&P Home Baked Goodness began with my mom. She was looking for a job at the soon-to-be-open Hague Shell Service Center when an unexpected opportunity came up. She rushed home, excited, and banged on my door to share the news. At the time, my husband and I were in our first year of marriage and expecting our first child. But, it had always been a dream of mine and moms, so as a family we decided to go for it. A few whirlwind months later, with my newborn in a carrier on our workbench, we opened our doors—nervous but hopeful—and welcomed our very first customer.

That was the start of a 15-year journey.

We ran the bakery for five incredible years, then made the difficult decision to prioritize family and sold the business to two wonderful people—our employee and friends, Heike and Andres Feist. They ran I&P with love and care, preserving the legacy my mother and I had built, even guiding it admirably through the challenges of COVID.

But I never stopped thinking about I&P. It was like one of my children—something I had mourned deeply. Then one day, I felt God prompting me to reach out to the Feists and ask if they would consider selling the bakery back to me.

And they said yes.

The Next Chapter

From that moment, everything moved fast. We took over operations of the Hague location, and just three short years later, opened a second location in Martensville in the summer of 2025. Only two weeks after signing the lease in Martensville, the Zaks family approached us with the opportunity to open a third location in Saskatoon. The journey has been wild—long hours, laughter, and a whole lot of flour—but we’ve loved every second.

We truly believe I&P Home Baked Goodness is God’s business. His blessings are seen every day—in our dedicated staff, the loyalty of our customers, the last-minute miracles by local tradespeople, and the constant love and support of our family.

This bakery is built on friendship, community, and love. Whether you're standing behind the counter or in front of it, you’re part of our story.

Thank you for making I&P Home Baked Goodness what it is today.
