It started with a mom, a newborn, and a workbench.
Irene grew up baking at her mother's side, then spent years learning the trade (from grocery store bakeries to Tim Hortons to camp kitchens) before an unexpected opportunity brought her home to Hague.
With her first baby in a carrier on the workbench, she and her mom opened the doors to I&P for the very first time. That was the start of a fifteen-year journey.
Letting go, and coming home
After five years, the family made the hard choice to step back and focus on family, selling the bakery to two trusted friends who ran it with care for years, guiding it through the challenges of COVID.
But Irene never stopped thinking about it. It felt like one of her own children. So one day, she reached out to ask if they'd consider selling it back. They said yes.
Three shops, one family
Once Irene was back at the helm in Hague, things moved fast. Three years later, a second shop opened in Martensville. Just two weeks after signing that lease, a third location arrived on 51st Street in Saskatoon, opening at the start of 2026.
Long hours, a lot of laughter, and a whole lot of flour. That's the short version of how one family bakery became three.
